So I think, newly weds are the cutest.
Since a close family member of ours is in that stage, I can truly say the above and add that I love watching them as they develop and explore each others smiles, smirks, as well as the physical bump-ins, under the table touching, giving a little pintch when no one really sees,or when they walk on the street and purposely bump in to each others shoulder, cause they just cant wait till they get home, cause he is so cute and she is the most adorable wife and he is convinced that all his friends envy him cause the girl he married is really “smart, attractive, lebedig, tzi-de-zach”.
The part I love the most is when they are trying to be extremely nice to each others. Like after dinner at their parents house, she offers to escort him to daven Maariv, and he is like no you really don’t have to, and she says, so you want me to sit at home klutz away and just wait for you? What am I going to do at home without you anyway?
I closely observed a fresh yingerman, still with the potpourri smell on his clothing, walking down the grocery aisles with his petite sweet love, (Duh!! They know each others for 16 days already ha?) He took this huge shopping cart, cause he is going “all out” for her, he is gonna get her eeehh..eeeverything she wants. so this is what I heard:
Disclaimer, as I was not able to pick up his name, I will just call him the tuter. BTW this was already after 15 minutes of shopping and all they had in the cart was 2 different rectangular sweet bars and a whipped cream. (Nah kidding.. there not up to that yet ..)
Tuter: SO Shaindy what ice cream do you like?
Shaindy: oh anything.
Tuter: no really what do you like the most?
Shaindy:”echt” anything you buy for me is fine.
Tuter: OK (lets narrow this down) Ice cream or ices which one do you prefer,
Shaindy: umm .. ices , ice cream , they are all the same, it kind of depends, but I can eat anything, so its OK if you like ices, buy it.
Tuter: OK lets look TOGETHER in the freezer. Like the pistachio with real chocolate sprinkled on top of the glazed almonds? (please say yes..)
Shaindy: umm.. not really , but whatever you will eat I will too..
Tuter: See, I really like the sandwich ice cream,, but I am not picky, so it can be this or the pistachio one..
Shaindy: wow we once had a party… and we had this huge bucket of coffee ice cream and I ate up half of it myself….
Tuter: interesting cause my sister also likes the coffee one a lot … so do you want me to buy you the coffee one?
Shaindy: no, I was just telling a funny story. we can buy whatever you prefer , for me it really makes no difference..
Tutor: OK so lets buy 2 different ones
Shaindy: (if we have 2 different ones, isn’t it like selfish?) no, tonight lets make it your night, lets buy whatever you like.
Tutor: no really I have the money (for 2 ice creams , wow!!! Groiseh Tatteh!) we should get 2
Shaindy: (but what about the selfish thing?) ummm. OK we can buy 2 and we can share
So after 10 minutes its back to the pistachio and the sandwich ice cream, now we move on to the chocolates….
Yes I will admit it was much more fun those days: it was much nicer when you really couldn’t wait to get home, we were still wearing new clothing all the time, when the Tuna salad still had that olive on top of the scoop ,when white sheets was the most exciting thought, when we wanted to tell how the day was cause someone realy cared, when we used an EPT every single day and had open heart surgery each and every night… and just loved each others more and more as a day passed.
Like that grandfather once asked his newly wed einiklech, so how is it going? B”H.
You see, you like each other’s more and more everyday? YESSSSSSSS Sure.Can you imagine, after so many years how much love bobby and me have for each others?? DUH!!!

She is going crazy cus her belly is popping, he cant wait to leave… just so not interested, in all this shopping…. and bedroom thoughts who even thinks of that anymore. When you just got married you feel like strangers afraid this & that won't please them! but time goes by love grows & grows that the truth don't hurt no more.
I do not believe any of my friends who tell me shuna rishona was a dream OH PLEASE! you are strangers! I don't look back (not that it wasnt great) but LOVE just LOVE him like crazy as time goes by. We are so connected that he knows my every thought! every blink of an eye before I even say anything. he finishes my sentences LOL! as for going to daven mariv I wish he would stay longer so he won't be all over me like that all the time!
Back then we were shy lol today We do it while washing dishes or on the floor or on the wash machine plane etc. as newlyweds lol lets just say it was like the kallah/chosen teacher told us!
After 5 years we still bring up our first years and he even remembers what I said first when we met....
I think especially in the chasidisha world since most marry strangers with totally different upbringing things get better as time goes on.
As a newlywed I couldnt say that he is my best friend! my soulmate! I am head over heals crazy in love! you know why? because lol as a virgin and naive frum girl (back then today hmm another story lol) it was just puppy love.exploring getting to know each other! Today I can truly say with all my heart that he is my best friend! my lover! my soulmate! my everything I am crazy about him and find nothing fault with him. back then I could criticize the way he was raised TODAY I frankly don't give a damn lol things that bother newlyweds (is it one word?) do not bother as time goes by in fact I laugh at myself how silly of me.
The reason I love him like crazy or think marriage works is because there is no EGO's, no competition,
communication,honesty,trust,L_O_V_E,respect,honor..... Unlike some of my friends wow lol they are at a war zone every breath they take is like trying to kill each other emotionally,physicly,mentally why stay in such a marriage? some say they hated each other in the yichud room already but to scared or afraid to leave! OMG I won't even go there.! LOL! this post made me miss him already I will text message him lol I won't say what though lol....
OH and don't forget ever to day you love him/her of course if you mean it. why do chasidisha people have problems saying that word

About the grocery shopping lol moochy you gotta watch me and my husband do that you will freak out in a good way lol. why does my husband always have to come home from mariv with choclates cakes fancy stuff at night? I am curious if this is my husbands mishigaz only but if he comes home if I happen to fall asleep (never really happens) he would be insulted like how can I fall asleep without him? moochy would you be insulted?

Moochy! That was so funny. At least I always know I can look to your blog for a good laugh. You write it so perfectly. And as much as I laugh it like does that flip-flop in my stomach that says oh how I wish I'll be that silly kallah soon. Then I am like mortified, OMG! will I be that stupid? No way! But I know I probably will.
I was once in NPGS (the "co-op" supermarket here in Lakewood), and saw these young newlies and they were like discussing crunchy or smooth peanut butter. I came back around to that aisle like ten minutes later and they were still there! I'll never forget that.

Thanx for this post moochy (by the way I left a comment--although a bit belated--on your "do we know each other" post)...anywho..I like this post it's sweet and romantic (and I'm a hopeless romantic).I too love to see newlyweds...so careful not to insult or hurt each others feelings...at the same time it's nice to have the comfort and the laid back attitude of being a few years married--knowing each other so well we can predict reactions, likes and dislikes, making 2 truly into one...i think the trick is to remember that no matter how much we love our spouse and how well we know each other we're all individuals and we're entitled to different opinions...on the same note it would be nice to get back a little of that self-sacrificing of being a newlywed every once in awhile just to remind our partner that they're special and nobody matters more then them at that very moment...appreciation is what fades as marriage goes on and i think we all could use a little reminder to bring us back to those sweet newlywed times :)
